  1. The Lone Star was marketed by the Lone Star Motor Truck and Tractor Association of San Antonio, TX. The sales office was opened in April 1919, and the dozen Piedmont built Lone Stars were sent around the state on a fund-raising campaign. Enough funds were raised through this and through the sales of stocks where a factory was built and cars were assembled locally, but this was not a success, and the company was out of business by 1922.
