The Model 6-40 was the only 6-cylinder engined car sold by Piedmont, and used a Continental engine putting out 42 bhp on a 122 inch wheelbase. Only tourers were offered, with prices ranging from $1945 in 1917-1919 down to $1865 in 1920, and back up to $1945 in 1921-1922.
The Piedmont Motor Car Company operated in Lynchburg on Hollins Mill Road where the Flowers Bakery is now located. Started by Wallace Taylor, Sr. in 1917, the company sold cars under the names Piedmont, Alsace, Lone Star and Bush.
